Community

The formation of genuine spiritual community is an important part of the One Spirit experience. Profound growth often occurs in the context of relationship, when we come together as a “we” in community. Put a wonderful and diverse group of people together and what happens? We learn a lot about ourselves. We learn a lot about each other. We learn a lot about how to live more skillfully in the world. We explore and learn to move beyond judgments and differences. We form deep and lasting friendships. Our hearts open to each other and then to the universe. We find that we have been profoundly changed.

“Community: Somewhere, there are people to whom we can speak with passion without having the words catch in our throats. Somewhere a circle of hands will open to receive us, eyes will light up as we enter, voices will celebrate with us whenever we come into our power. Community means strength that joins our strength to do the work that needs to be done. Arms to hold us when we falter. A circle of friends. Someplace where we can be free.”
