Classes & Intensive Retreat

Classes
• Classes are on a 10-month academic cycle, running from September through June.

• All classes (except electives) meet on weekends, alternating monthly between a Saturday only class and a full weekend meeting.

• Classes meet from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

• Classes meet at the One Spirit office and classroom space at 330 West 38th Street, in midtown Manhattan.

Each class session focuses on a particular topic and includes the opportunity for both didactic and experiential learning, dialogue with classmates, and exploration of your inner experience of the issues raised by the topics being studied. Classes are facilitated by our Spiritual Director, guest speakers, and an experienced educational staff. Each class session provides a sacred space that fosters spiritual community and an environment of deep acceptance, while challenging you to take your next step in growth or healing in regard to the topics being presented.

Intensive Retreat
Each year of the Seminary program culminates in a residential Intensive, which is held in the New York area. It is a time for the entire class to join together, students and staff. The environment and the program create a profound energy that empowers participants to enter more deeply into the practices and the teachings that they have experienced during the year, and to take the next step on their spiritual journey. All students, both attending and distance learners, are required to participate.

The First Year Intensive runs over four days and culminates in a spiritual initiation ceremony into ministry, which is held on the last evening of the retreat. The Second Year Intensive is held over the three days prior to the public Commencement Ceremony. During this Intensive, students take their personal vows of ministry and are formally ordained as Interfaith ministers.
