Candidate Qualifications

One Spirit Interfaith Seminary welcomes all qualified adults, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, ethnic background, socioeconomic status, or sexual orientation.

All applications are reviewed and each candidate is carefully considered. Acceptance into the program is heavily weighted on the applicant’s character and emotional and spiritual maturity, which is assessed through his or her written application, two page spiritual journey paper, and an in-person or telephone interview.

Ideal candidates exhibit a desire to be of service to the world, a passion to grow and learn, a commitment to self-awareness and self-responsibility, and a desire to deepen their understanding and experience of the universe, the Divine and themselves.  A dedication to personal growth and an open and curious mind are important assets. Formal academic requirements are reviewed but not required for admission; however applicants must be able to communicate, read, and write at a post-secondary educational level. 

Building healthy community is an important part of the One Spirit experience. Applicants are expected to demonstrate the ability to function as part of a community. This entails a commitment to emotional and spiritual integrity, honest communication, and responsible speech and behavior.

As in years past, the seminary program is full to capacity again this year, causing many late applicants to be turned away. To ensure a place in classes beginning September 2008, please apply early.
