Distance Learning
On-site and Distance Learning Available
Distance learning students have two options for this program:- Webinar – students log into the class through their computer. They are able to listen to the class and participate in real time.
- Audio Books - Class sessions held in New York are recorded and posted on a dedicated Interspiritual Counseling class website via audiobook. Students can download audiobooks, handouts and supporting materials from each class. Please be aware that his requires setting aside a committed 12 hours of listening time for a Saturday & Sunday class each month.
- Private Class Website – A dedicated class community website provides additional opportunities to interact (i.e.: chat with fellow students about questions, assignments, presentations and related class topics).
- Conference Calls - Monthly conference calls are also provided and facilitated by the teaching staff and assistants.
Face-to-face technologies such as Skype and iChat are also highly recommended for use by distance learners, but are not required.
NOTE: Distance learning is inherently a different experience than in-residence study. It requires a greater degree of independence and self-initiative. Nevertheless, most distance learning students find the training program to be a rich and life-enhancing experience, and develop a strong sense of spiritual community with their classmates and colleagues over the course of the two-year training. Distance learning students are encouraged to attend class whenever feasible.

" As you consider joining One Spirit as a distance learner, I hope you will read my message endorsing One Spirit’s Distance Learning Program. Having been a teacher in settings ranging from Ivy League colleges to correctional institutions, I was a distance learning skeptic of the worst kind." - Read Full Endorsement
