| The
Foundation of a Purposeful Life and Authentic Leadership
Fall 2010 dates to be announced
Spiritual Depth focuses on the development of the
individual, the ability to grow deeper into one’s interior,
more authentic, True Self. As the journey from birth to death unfolds
for each of us, psychological and spiritual issues resurface in
new and deeper ways. This course supports exploration of these issues
on our unique journeys so we may better understand the personality
in the context of the True Self. The more we develop the ability
to step back and witness, the more we are able to access our True
Self and make wiser choices for effective action.
Our work on ourselves and our growth in consciousness
are gifts to others as well as ourselves. The class combines inner
work in the context of community for support, dialogue and insight.
Class participants are invited to engage in ways that allow each
to be challenged and supported in their expression of their authentic
self. A series of personal practices are encouraged to deepen the
student’s self understanding and understanding of others.
This one-year course is designed to facilitate
the process of inner transformation by deepening our capacity for
awareness and presence. A series of personal practices will be encouraged
to deepen the student's self understanding, spaciousness and equanimity
in the face of challenges and stress.
Personal and interpersonal development will be
encouraged through a variety of approaches, including experiential
exercises, readings, presentations, meditation, self reflection,
journaling, drawing, dream work and group dialogue.
Some questions for exploration:
- How and where do we need to be awakened further
to “Who am I?"
- How do we enlarge our identification beyond the
personality to foster the expression of our True Self?
- What daily practices support the awareness and
access to the True Self in our leadership roles?
- How do we develop an integrated approach to working
with mind body and spirit to build the capacity for the expression
of authentic leadership?
- As we serve, how can we most authentically support
others’ growth and make a contribution to our families,
work, communities and the world?
Whether the call is to a new stage of personal
evolution, a new level of effectiveness as a team, or a deeper level
of authenticity and inspiration as a leader, the inner capacity
for focused awareness and genuine presence provides the energetic
foundation necessary to bring these aspirations to life.
