Spiritual Practice by Way of Creative Expression

Spiritual Practice by Way of Creative Expression

For some, the idea of “spiritual practice” conjures up the images of yogis or monks sitting in solitary silence. Prayer, meditation, and reading scripture are all transformative and effective methods of connecting to the Divine; however, spiritual practice can take many forms. Offered with intention, chanting, movement and dance, storytelling, and visual arts can all be powerful ways to celebrate and commune with Spirit.

In this highly experiential workshop, we will examine practices of the world’s major religious traditions: Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, and native/indigenous spirituality. These practices have enhanced and deepened spiritual paths of many for thousands of years. We now have the opportunity to explore and integrate a wide range of creative modalities and experience spirituality in all realms of the Self. As we move our bodies and lift our voices in song, we will deepen and expand our connection to the Divine in a safe and supportive environment.

Please bring: yoga mat or blanket, eye covering, small drum or percussion instrument, and journal.
